Yoga Asanas for Depression

There are some Yoga Asanas that can help your depression. They help you feel more in touch with your body and mind.  They also bring joy to you as you perform them. 

Sometimes when you are feeling depressed you may not have the ambition to start getting moving. This is a difficult part of starting any protocol to help yourself. Just know you are not alone. 

Movement helps to increase the production of endorphins (also known as feel-good chemicals).  Low levels of GABA are associated with depression and anxiety.  GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) production is increased by yoga asanas.  Research has shown that GABA levels can stay increased with consistent practice.   The more you practice the more you will see the benefits.
